We are now on the island of Mauritius, located Southwest of the Indian Ocean, 2,000 km off East Africa. Approximately 10 times the size of Washington DC it is home to 1.2 million people that form a mosaic of races, cultures and religions. Leaders there have vision to reach addicts. Mauritians are descendants of immigrants from the Indian sub-continent, Africa, Europe and China. English is the official language, but most are multilingual fluent in Creole, French and English. Bhojpuri, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu and Mandarin are also spoken. |

Global Teen Challenge leaders
from around the world gathered to share 6
days of
once-in-a-lifetime training.
Over 60 candidates from 9 African Nations came together for this historic gathering in Free State, South Africa. LTI participants were eager to learn Teen Challenge leadership principles, philosophy and vision At the same time we enjoyed exciting times of worship, fellowship, intercession and prayer.
This was a unique opportunity to offer vital training from world leaders, including
Mike Zello: Africa Regional Rep. for Global TC with 45 years of Teen Challenge ministry,
Dave Batty: Chief Operating officer of Global Teen Challenge and the author of the Teen Challenge Curriculum,
Bonnie Martin: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, ministering 10 hours of powerful Christ-centered insights in Trauma Counseling
Chuck Zierle: coffee house ministry
Bernie Gillott: Global Evangelism Coordinator for GTC, teaching and Worship/Outreach. |

I was most impressed by the hunger to learn and the burden for the lost by the delegations of all 9 African Nations. From a new plant for Zambia to reach prostitutes, to standing against principalities of immorality and addiction in Mauritius to gangs in Cape Town ...  |

... they daily make sacrifices to bring the good news to their nation. From a single leader, Amatepe Emmanuel, coming from Ghana, missionary John Martin with 2 men from Kenya, 2 men from Uganda , Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho, and 3 from Mauritius Large delegations from Swaziland, Cape Town and South Africa ... they all embrace a shared vision to impact their continent with the power of God through Evangelism and cutting edge residential ministry. The delegates attending the training crossed cultural, generational and racial boundaries as a tremendous Celebration of the love of God. |

As we minister on the Island of Mautiritus, we will face a wide range of religious pressure. We will find Hindu 48%, Roman Catholic 23.6%, Muslim 16.6%, other Christian 8.6%, other 2.5%, unspecified 0.3%, none 0.4%. Pray for God;s favor and wisdom as we minister.

He called on the nation collectively to pray for the safety of England, its
people and peace. This had a miraculous effect as the bombing stopped. Now we need the same thing here in America. Join the team.
The aftermath of this election calls for the people of God to pray with more urgency than ever. The United States of America, our friends, and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!! |

FOCUS |
1) Pray for our nations and the healing and Unity as political team prepare for the peaceful transition of power. Following a a bitter and divisive election, No matter what your politics, we have biblical responsibility to pray for our government and leaders.
2) Pray for Cape Town, for the violence and the gangs and protections fro valiant teen Challenge teams that brave the worse areas and Mannenburg, Pollsmoor Prison and "shanty towns to bring the gospel to people lost and living in terror.
3) Please pry for the LTI and preparations as I move on to Mauritius and Swaziland.
4) Please pray for my mom who after getting Celulitis again, has now been diagnosed with Staph in her other leg- She is a warrior, we all appreciate your prayers . . while I would desire to be with her at home right now, I know my work is in Africa until Thanksgiving. .
5) Pray for Cathy as well as she is carrying the burden of the household and ministry as I am on this extended Mission, see you all in December. |
